South Side Elementary School offers a variety of volunteer opportunities during the school day --- from tutoring individual students to assisting teachers with special projects and school-wide events. Volunteers are needed in grades K-5 and in all subject areas. Many of our volunteers enjoy reading with students, helping with writing assignments, and/or tutoring in math. Occasionally volunteers are requested for assistance with after-school activities and clubs. Please consider becoming a member of the South Side school community as a volunteer and make a difference!
What must I do to become a volunteer?
All regular volunteers (one hour a week or more) will be required to:
- Download and fill out a volunteer application
- Pass a background check
- Sign in and wear a nametag when you're in the school building
- Attend an orientation/training session at the school site.
Where can I volunteer?
Please contact the volunteer coordinator at the school you where you would like to volunteer. The school coordinator will explain volunteer opportunities available at their school.
