South Side Elementary School has been invited to attend the Fuel Up to Play 60 Reward Summit on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 in St. Louis, MO, sponsored by the Midwest Dairy Council.

This Summit recognizes schools that focus on promoting an active and healthy culture. More than 100 South Side students are currently a part of the Fuel Up Team, which is led by Bill Taylor (Principal), Brian Wenzel (Physical Education Teacher), and Destiny Decker (School Nurse). As part of this program, students are staying active and making healthy eating choices.

A group of students will accompany the program advisors to the event and will be joined by more than 275 other students and advisors from Eastern Missouri and Southern Illinois for a day of physical activities, a nutritious lunch, educational nutrition games, a visit from a dairy farmer, and other special guests.
